The spring bargain hunters' rendezvous at Clos Brosset
Organized every spring by APACH, the Châteaufort parents' association, the Clos Brosset flea market is a much-awaited family event in this small Yvelines village. Set in a green setting in the heart of the village, private vendors offer bargain hunters clothing, toys, books, dishware, small furniture and curiosities. Proceeds are entirely donated to the local schools to finance activities and school outings.
Every spring, Châteaufort welcomes bargain hunters for a friendly day at Clos Brosset. Organized by APACH, the village parents' association, the flea market brings together around a hundred private vendors emptying their attics, garages and wardrobes. In this small rural village in Yvelines, near the Saclay plateau, the event is one of the highlights of the local calendar and opens the spring flea market season in the western Paris suburbs.
Clos Brosset offers exhibitors and visitors a green setting that gives the event a truly village identity. The improvised aisles between stalls allow visitors to browse at their own pace and find an extra piece of furniture, an old toy, a few books or clothes still in good condition. The human scale of the event appeals to lovers of quiet bargain hunting who prefer small village flea markets to the anonymity of urban parking lots.
Like many flea markets organized by parents' associations, the Châteaufort event serves a dual mission: to enliven local life and to fund school projects. Proceeds from vendor registrations and refreshments go towards supporting activities, outings and school trips for the village schoolchildren. Spending a morning in Châteaufort is also taking part in a concrete educational project.
Nestled in the Mérantaise valley, Châteaufort is a charming rural village in Yvelines between the Saclay plateau and the Chevreuse valley. Visitors can extend their day by discovering the Saint-Christophe church, the washhouse, or by exploring the trails of the nearby Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park. An ideal outing to combine with a visit to Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, Chevreuse or the Madeleine castle.
The Châteaufort flea market is usually held in April, over a single day, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Registrations open several weeks in advance with APACH and close at the end of March. The event attracts both village residents and bargain hunters from nearby towns such as Toussus-le-Noble, Magny-les-Hameaux, Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse or the Saclay plateau.
The 2026 Châteaufort flea market was held on Sunday April 12, 2026 at Clos Brosset, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Organized by APACH with registrations closed on March 31, it brought together private vendors and bargain hunters for a spring family day benefiting the village schools.
On Sunday April 12, 2026, APACH exhibitors set up their stands from 8:30 am at Clos Brosset for the new edition of the Châteaufort flea market, which ran until late afternoon. Registrations, open several weeks earlier through the town hall website and the association, had closed on March 31, leaving room for the usual mix of village residents and families from nearby towns.
As every year, the day's proceeds went to the Châteaufort schools to finance activities and school outings. The 2027 edition is already expected to follow the same spring calendar.
