The 2025 edition of the Vide-Grenier d'Allauch took place on May 1st in the old Provençal village, at the foot of the famous windmills on the Frédéric Mistral esplanade. Individuals and families gathered in the picturesque alleys of the village perched near Marseille for a convivial day of treasure hunting. Under the Provençal sun, bargain hunters found great finds while enjoying the panoramic view of the Marseille harbor and the Garlaban massif, dear to Marcel Pagnol.
On May 1st, 2025, the Vide-Grenier d'Allauch once again brought together locals and visitors in the historic heart of this Provençal village perched at an altitude of 228 meters. Private sellers' stalls lined the alleys of the old village and its shaded squares, offering treasure hunters a fine variety of items: Provençal crockery and earthenware, old books and comics, clothing for the whole family, toys, decorative knick-knacks, and small furniture.
The exceptional setting of Allauch, with its five windmills standing on the Frédéric Mistral esplanade and its panoramic view of Marseille and Notre-Dame de la Garde, contributed to the success of this edition. Visitors enjoyed the spring warmth to stroll among the stalls, then extended their visit by discovering the restored Louis Ricard windmill, the Notre-Dame du Château chapel perched at 310 meters, or the trails of the Garlaban massif, a mythical landscape from Marcel Pagnol's works.
The warm and family-friendly atmosphere that characterizes this car boot sale confirmed the attachment of the people of Allauch and Marseille to this annual May 1st event, rooted in the tradition of Provençal popular gatherings.
