Car boot sale organized by the Saint-Thomas twinning committee in the village of La Roque-Gageac
Every year at the end of September, the Saint-Thomas twinning committee organizes a car boot sale in the village center of La Roque-Gageac, one of the most emblematic villages of the Périgord Noir. This end-of-season event attracts bargain hunters to a spectacular setting, between the golden cliff and the waters of the Dordogne.
Listed among the most beautiful villages in France, La Roque-Gageac is a troglodytic village built against a high limestone cliff, facing the Dordogne. Its pale stone houses, topped with slate roofs, are reflected in the calm waters of the river. The village is famous for its exotic garden, where palm trees and banana trees grow sheltered by the cliff, and for its traditional flat-bottomed boats (gabares) that navigate the Dordogne. The exceptional sunshine of this south-facing site gives it a unique Mediterranean microclimate in Périgord.
The Saint-Thomas twinning committee fosters cultural and friendly exchanges between La Roque-Gageac and its twin town. The car boot sale is one of its flagship events, helping to fund the committee's activities and strengthen ties between residents. Volunteers from the committee ensure the organization, the welcome of exhibitors, and the running of the refreshment stand and light catering.
The car boot sale is held in the village center of La Roque-Gageac, by the Dordogne river. Refreshments and light snacks available on site. Contact: 06 30 14 58 01 or [email protected].
