With around 150 regular exhibitors and between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors per Sunday, it is the most important weekly flea market event in Auvergne. You can find antique furniture, tableware, trinkets, vintage clothing, vinyl records, books, and all sorts of second-hand items. The event is organized by L'Heptagone and takes place all year round, rain or shine.
Every Sunday, Place Gambetta in the Salins district of Clermont-Ferrand transforms into a vast open-air flea market. Around 150 exhibitors – professional second-hand dealers, antique dealers, and individuals – set up their stalls from the early morning hours to offer a considerable selection of antique and second-hand items.
The Salins district, located south of the historic center of Clermont-Ferrand, owes its name to the ancient salt springs exploited since antiquity. The flea market is part of the life of this popular and lively district. Savvy bargain hunters arrive early to find the best pieces: solid wood furniture, earthenware from Clermont or Riom, old tools, advertising posters, Art Deco lighting, or even jazz and French chanson vinyl records. Place Gambetta offers a generous space, easily accessible by tram (Salins stop).
