Every August, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle hosts its waterside flea market in one of the most spectacular settings in the Dordogne. Stalls are set up along the river, at the foot of Castelnaud castle, offering a breathtaking view of the Dordogne valley and Beynac castle on the opposite bank.

A Unique Natural and Historical Setting

The flea market site, on the banks of the Dordogne, combines the coolness of the river with the beauty of the surrounding medieval heritage. Castelnaud castle, a 13th-century fortress now housing the Museum of Medieval Warfare, dominates the village with its crenellated towers. Below, the banks of the Dordogne offer a shaded and peaceful setting to stroll among the flea market stalls.

Located at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Céou, the village of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is one of the most visited sites in the valley.
