The Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne Monthly Flea Market is a regular event organised by the Association Ville en Fête from May to October, at the Plan Pinet industrial estate, 989 Avenue du 8 Mai 1945. Each month, around 30 exhibitors set up on this spacious site to offer their finds and second-hand items to bargain hunters from the Maurienne valley and beyond.
The stalls offer a great diversity of articles: clothing for the whole family, ornaments, antique and modern crockery, second-hand books, toys, tools, small appliances, vinyl records and CDs, sports and mountain equipment, small furniture and many more everyday items.
The Association Ville en Fête ensures each edition is a moment of community spirit and sharing. A refreshment stand offers hot and cold drinks, while a food stall allows visitors to eat on site. Stall pitches are available at 3 euros per linear metre.
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne is the sub-prefecture of Savoie and the historic capital of the Maurienne valley, France's longest intra-Alpine valley. A Tour de France stage town at the crossroads of the Galibier, Croix-de-Fer and Télégraphe passes.
