The Festival Committee's great spring car boot sale, in the village centre
On Sunday 14 June 2026, the Jonquières Festival Committee organises its annual car boot sale in the streets of the village centre, a stone's throw from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards. Visitor admission 4 euros from 9am. Village residents and neighbours take over the lanes for a convivial day of hunting and bargains in this authentic Provençal village of the Comtat Venaissin.
Each June, the Jonquières Festival Committee organises its annual car boot sale, distinct from the weekly flea market held year-round on Route d'Orange. This spring event takes over the streets and squares of the village centre, turning Jonquières into a vast open-air hunting ground. Unlike the Sunday market open to professionals, this car boot sale remains largely dedicated to village and local private sellers.
Jonquières, with some 4,700 residents, lies between Orange and Carpentras, bordering the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards. The village keeps a typical Provençal character: narrow lanes, plane-tree squares, the Saint-Pierre church, fountains and washhouses.
Stalls offer the usual family range: children's and adult clothing, toys, paperbacks, comics, records, crockery, curios, small furniture, tools, baby equipment, bikes and decorative items. Faience, Provençal folk objects and old linens occasionally appear.
