Vide Commode de Saint-Étienne-du-Grès

In March 2025, the Salle Pierre Emmanuel in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès hosted the Vide Commode organized by the association Lou Riban Esteven. This annual event, dedicated to the traditional Arles costume, allowed wearers of the costume and lovers of Provençal heritage to gather in a covered and warm setting, in the heart of this village located at the foot of the Alpilles.

The exhibitors' tables offered a remarkable selection of items related to the world of Arlesian costume: Arlesian ribbons, parade parasols, fabrics and silks for making, delicate laces, traditional fichus and shawls, Provençal jewelry passed down through generations, exceptional embroidery and boutis. Complete costume elements for women, children, and men were also offered, allowing everyone to compose, complete, or restore their traditional outfit.

The friendly atmosphere fostered by the volunteers of Lou Riban Esteven, an association dedicated to the preservation of Provençal cultural heritage, gave this edition a festive and tradition-respecting character. The Vide Commode de Saint-Étienne-du-Grès will return in March 2026 at the Salle Pierre Emmanuel.
