The Val de Moder Pfaffenhoffen Flea Market has become over the years one of the great bargain-hunting events in Northern Alsace. Organized for over two decades by the Val de Moder Merchants' Association (Assodev67350), it celebrates its 22nd edition in 2026 and remains faithful to its timeless slogan: "Always on May 8th". The streets of the historic center of Pfaffenhoffen then transform into a vast bargain-hunting ground where private individuals and professionals display their treasures from 6 AM until 6 PM. Bargain hunters come from all over Alsace and even from the nearby German Palatinate to find quality antiques, Alsatian antiquities, traditional dishes, old furniture, vintage clothing, books, toys, vinyl records, trinkets, old postcards and curiosities. The pitch rates (€15 for 5 meters, €30 for 10 meters, €45 for 15 meters) make this event accessible to all exhibitors.
Val-de-Moder is a new commune of Bas-Rhin created on January 1, 2016 by the merger of four former villages: Pfaffenhoffen, La Walck, Uberach and Ringeldorf. Located in the Haguenau-Wissembourg district, the commune extends over a territory crossed by the Moder river and several streams (Schalkendorf, Hengstbaechel) that give the valley its green character. With approximately 5,000 inhabitants, Val-de-Moder is a dynamic pole of northern Alsace, renowned for its traditional crafts and heritage. Pfaffenhoffen, the historic heart of the commune, houses the Museum of Popular Images, unique in France, which presents religious and secular images from the 18th to 20th centuries. The village has preserved its traditional charm with its half-timbered houses and its synagogue classified as a historical monument, the oldest still standing in Northern Alsace.
May 8, a public holiday, has become over the editions the unmissable meeting point for regional bargain hunters. Local merchants open their shops, the terraces of cafés and restaurants welcome visitors between two finds, and the atmosphere is festive all day long. The refreshment stand and catering organized by the association offer Alsatian specialties and plenty to eat for noon and evening. For exhibitors, registration is done via the Assodev67350 Facebook page. An event that perfectly combines local commerce, Alsatian heritage and the pleasure of bargain hunting in the open air in an authentic village setting.
The 22nd edition of the Val de Moder Flea Market returns on May 8 and 9, 2026 in the streets of Pfaffenhoffen. Faithful to its tradition "Always on May 8th", from 6 AM to 6 PM. Refreshments and catering.
