Neuville-de-Poitou, a Haut-Poitou canton chief-town (around 5,000 inhabitants) 20 km north-west of Poitiers, hosts its « Vide ta chambre » on Sunday 26 April 2026. Run by AIPEN (Inter-Communal Parents Association of Neuville-de-Poitou), it has become a village spring tradition.

The concept

Children with their parents set up small stalls to sell what they no longer use: outgrown clothes, forgotten toys, read books, baby gear. They discover the value of their things, the joy of bargaining, and join an eco-friendly gesture. Visitors — often other families — find cheap gear for their own kids.

AIPEN, an inter-communal association

AIPEN gathers parents from several Neuvillois schools, giving the event an inter-communal scale. Proceeds fund school trips, class outings, educational material and fairs. Pooling helps run bigger events than a single small school could.
