For three decades, the Skol Diwan Karaez association — support committee for the Breton-speaking Diwan school of Carhaix — has been organizing its grand Troc et Puces in the heart of the Kreiz Breizh city. The event takes place around the Halles of Carhaix, Place Albert Trévidic, and extends into the adjacent streets of the city center from 9 am to 6 pm.

This event has become a must for lovers of flea markets and second-hand goods in central Finistère and beyond. Individuals and professionals offer a variety of merchandise: clothing, books, vinyl records, toys, furniture, tableware, tools, curiosities. Food and drinks are available on site throughout the day, pleasantly animating the market surroundings.

Diwan Karaez: the Breton-speaking school at the heart of the city

Diwan is the network of associative schools in the Breton language, a pioneer of immersive Breton-language education since 1977. The Skol Diwan Karaez school is one of the many structures in this network located in Carhaix-Plouguer. The profits from this swap meet directly contribute to the financing of the school and its educational activities. This link between a festive event and an educational cause gives an additional dimension to the event, highly appreciated by the region's inhabitants.
