The APEL (Association des Parents d'Élèves de l'Enseignement Libre) of the Notre-Dame de la Clarté school regularly organizes its swap meet at the Mahalon multi-activity center (29790). This popular event in Cornouaille brings together dozens of private sellers and many visitors looking for bargains in this village of Cap Sizun.
The APEL Notre-Dame de la Clarté is the parents' association of the village's private Catholic school. Organizing these swap meets is one of the association's main fundraising activities, helping to support educational projects, school trips, and school equipment. Each paid entry and each rented stall contributes directly to the life of the institution.
The unique aspect of this event is that it is organized on two dates each year: one edition in spring (March) and another in May. This formula allows the association to multiply fundraising opportunities and offer two flea market events to the residents of Cap Sizun and Cornouaille. Both editions are held at the Mahalon multi-activity center.
The Troc et puces Notre Dame de la Clarté offers a wide variety of second-hand items: trinkets and decorative objects, small furniture, appliances and electronics, adult and children's clothing, books, DVDs, CDs, board games, toys, and many other everyday items. The sellers are individuals, which ensures accessible prices and a wide diversity in the offerings.
Mahalon (29790) is a small village of about 900 inhabitants located in Cap Sizun, in Cornouaille, in southern Finistère. This rural commune with a preserved natural setting benefits from an ideal geographical location between the Iroise Sea and the agricultural lands of Cornouaille. The APEL association is very active there, and its swap meets attract visitors from all over the Cap Sizun peninsula and the Bigouden region.
The event takes place from 9 am to 6 pm in a warm atmosphere. Entry is set at €1 for adults, free for children under 12. Crêpes and refreshments are offered on-site by APEL volunteers. It is possible to contact the organization by phone or email to register as a seller.
