The annual car boot sale in Tourmont at the village hall, between Poligny and Champagnole
Every year in June, the village of Tourmont comes alive for a day of car boot sale. Located on the first Jura plateau, between Poligny and Champagnole, this small rural village offers an idyllic countryside setting for a day of outdoor treasure hunting. Sellers take over the area around the village hall and the adjacent village streets.
From 7 am to 6 pm, the stalls offer the usual array of country car boot sales: old crockery, second-hand clothes, toys, books, garden tools, and various trinkets. The seller's fee of 2 euros per linear meter makes the event accessible to all individuals wishing to clear out their attics.
Tourmont is a rural commune of about 300 inhabitants, perched at over 500 meters altitude on the first Jura plateau. Surrounded by forests and pastures, the village offers a panorama of the Jura mountains and the Poligny 'reculée' (a type of valley). This privileged geographical location makes it a stopover for hikers and nature lovers.
The Tourmont car boot sale is above all a moment of village conviviality. Residents gather, visitors discover this discreet corner of the Jura, and everyone leaves with a few finds and good memories. The local organization ensures refreshments are available to accompany treasure hunters throughout the day.
