The Thouars All-Collections Fair: A Historic Gathering for Collectors

For over four decades, the Thouars All-Collections Fair has brought together collection enthusiasts of all kinds every May 1st at the socio-cultural hall in Vrines, within the commune of Thouars. This event, which has endured through the years without losing its appeal, is one of the key dates in the philatelic and numismatic calendar of northern Deux-Sevres.

A Specialised Exhibition with Many Facets

With around twenty exhibitors present each year, this fair offers a comprehensive overview of the collecting world: French and foreign postage stamps, ancient and contemporary coins, vintage postcards, old papers, military medals, pins, and many other objects of passion. The exhibitors, mostly experienced collectors or specialised associations, offer carefully selected pieces and willingly share their expertise with visitors.

Thouars, Medieval City and Heritage Land

Thouars, a sub-prefecture of Deux-Sevres, is a history-laden town overlooking the Thouet from its rocky spur. Its Chateau des Ducs de La Tremoille, medieval ramparts, Saint-Medard church, and picturesque streets make it an ideal setting for a day of treasure hunting.

Practical Tips for Visitors

The fair runs from 9am to 6pm with free admission for visitors. Vrines, attached to Thouars, has free parking near the socio-cultural hall. Arriving early in the morning is recommended to enjoy the best selection.
