The spring réderie of the Picardy plateau
The Thieulloy-la-Ville Flea Market is part of the great Picardy réderie calendar that animates the Somme department each spring. This Picardy plateau village hosts its annual bargain hunting event in a family and friendly spirit. Listed among the May rendezvous by Somme Tourisme.
Far from large urban events, this flea market cultivates the human-scale réderie spirit. Exhibitors — mainly private individuals from the village and neighbouring towns — offer tableware, decorative items, family clothes, toys, books, old tools, small furniture and various objects from family attics.
Thieulloy-la-Ville is a small town of about 500 inhabitants in southwestern Somme, on the Picardy plateau. The region is characterized by large cereal plains, red brick villages and medieval churches. Less known than the Bay of Somme, this rural part of the department is appealing for its authenticity.
Picardy village flea markets have that particular charm: organization remains artisanal, exhibitors know each other, visitors meet their neighbours. Essential for local community life.
Check times with town hall. Arrive early. Bring small cash denominations. Explore the region: the Picardy plateau deserves a real discovery.
