Swap meet for the benefit of the public schools of Port-Louis, at the salle de la criée of the port of Locmalo
Each year, parents of students from the public schools of Port-Louis organize a swap meet at the salle de la criée, on the port of Locmalo. The profits are entirely reinvested to finance school trips, educational projects, and extracurricular activities for the children.
Port-Louis is a commune of nearly 2,700 inhabitants located at the entrance to the Lorient roadstead. This small town, fortified by Vauban, is famous for its citadel which houses the Museum of the French East India Company. The port of Locmalo, located north of the peninsula, retains its recreational and fishing activity. The salle de la criée, a vestige of past fishing activity, is now converted into an event space.
Visitors can browse through stalls of clothing, toys, books, crockery, and trinkets, while enjoying the view of the port of Locmalo. The atmosphere is friendly and family-oriented, driven by the commitment of volunteer parents. A refreshment stand and light catering complete the offer for a pleasant time.
