The Luçon Super U grand flea market is one of the big southern Vendée 1 May events. In the supermarket's vast car park - strategic, central, high-capacity, adjoining shops and residential areas. 2026 edition: Friday 1 May 2026.

The supermarket-car-park format is particularly effective: many exhibitors and mixed crowd of seasoned bargain-hunters and shop customers. Private sellers clearing garages plus some semi-pro dealers with more curated lots.

Luçon, Richelieu's city

A sub-prefecture of around 9,300, nicknamed "Richelieu's city" as the future cardinal was bishop here in the early 17th century. Exceptional heritage: 12th-16th c. cathedral, Dumaine garden, covered market, medieval centre. Famous Saturday morning market.

Southern Vendée gateway to the Marais Poitevin (15 km), La Tranche-sur-Mer beaches (20 km). A83 exit 8, SNCF line - a major hub.

Tips

Arrive early (from 7am) - events draw crowds. Easy parking. Extend with Luçon historic centre (cathedral, Dumaine garden) or Marais Poitevin.
