Summer flea market in Steinbourg, a dynamic town in the Saverne area at the foot of the Saverne pass
The Steinbourg Flea Market spreads through the streets of this dynamic town at the foot of the Saverne pass, the historic passage between Alsace and Lorraine. The exhibitors — private sellers and some professional dealers — set up their stalls from the morning to offer a wide variety of items: clothing, shoes, toys from all eras, books (novels, comics, coffee table books), CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, decorative trinkets, antique and modern crockery, glassware, antiques and collectables, small furniture, DIY and gardening tools, household linen and all manner of curiosities.
Steinbourg is a town of around 2,600 inhabitants located in the Saverne area, about 5 kilometres south-east of Saverne, along the national road. The commune is part of the Communauté de Communes du Pays de Saverne and benefits from a favourable geographical location, at the crossroads of road links (A4, RN4) connecting Strasbourg to Paris via Lorraine. Steinbourg retains a pleasant residential character with its Alsatian houses, local shops and sports facilities. The village is surrounded by meadows, orchards and the first foothills of the Vosges, offering a green and peaceful living environment.
The Steinbourg flea market stands out for its authentic village atmosphere. Bargain hunters leisurely browse the stalls, chatting with exhibitors, negotiating prices and savouring the relaxed atmosphere of an Alsatian summer Sunday. The refreshment stand and catering — tartes flambées, grills, cold drinks — provide a gourmet break between finds.
