Monthly solidarity sale of books, comics, CDs, vinyl records, stamps, and postcards at Centre Jean XXIII
The Solidarity Book Sale of Hérouville-Saint-Clair is a monthly event organized by the Departmental Council of Calvados of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at Centre Jean XXIII, 270 avenue du Connétable. Every first Saturday of the month, from 9 am to 5 pm, visitors discover a considerable selection of used books at low prices: crime novels, classic and contemporary literature, science fiction, fantasy, poetry, theater, children's books, history, art, books on Normandy, religions, philosophy, psychology, education, personal development, cooking, and creative hobbies. The sale also offers comic books, CDs, vinyl records, stamps, and old postcards. For every novel purchased, one novel is offered. The proceeds are entirely donated to the food distribution provided by the SSVP in sixteen relay points, nine of which are in the Caen metropolitan area.
Each month, the Centre Jean XXIII in Hérouville-Saint-Clair hosts a solidarity book sale organized by the Departmental Council of Calvados of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. With over 22,000 inhabitants, Hérouville-Saint-Clair is the second largest municipality in the Calvados department, located immediately north of Caen. A town resolutely focused on culture and solidarity, it is home to many active associations. The Centre Jean XXIII, located at 270 avenue du Connétable near the shopping center, provides a spacious and accessible venue for this monthly sale that attracts bibliophiles from the entire Caen metropolitan area.
All proceeds from the sale are donated to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Calvados, which provides food distribution through sixteen relay points, nine of which are in the Caen metropolitan area.
