Each month, the Centre Jean XXIII in Hérouville-Saint-Clair hosts a solidarity book sale organized by the Departmental Council of Calvados of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. This charity event offers an impressive catalog of nearly 18,000 used books, covering all literary genres: crime novels, classic and contemporary literature, science fiction, fantasy, poetry, theater, children's books, history, art, regional books on Normandy, religions, philosophy, psychology, education, and personal development.

Much More Than Just Books

Beyond printed works, the solidarity sale also features a section for comic books and manga, music CDs, vinyl records, collectible stamps, and old postcards. A special "buy one novel, get one free" offer makes the event particularly attractive for avid readers mindful of their budget.

All proceeds from the sale are donated to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Calvados, which provides food distribution through sixteen relay points, nine of which are in the Caen metropolitan area.
