Annual car boot sale organized by the SIMacau association in the wine village of Macau, Haut-Médoc
Each spring, the SIMacau association organizes a car boot sale in the center of Macau (33460). Private sellers offer a wide range of second-hand items: clothing, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, small furniture, and decorative objects. The event benefits from a pleasant village atmosphere, between vineyards and the banks of the Garonne.
Macau is a commune of about 4,000 inhabitants located in the Haut-Médoc, just 20 kilometers north of Bordeaux. The village is famous for its "artichauds de Macau", a local specialty linked to the alluvial lands along the Garonne, and for its wine estates in the Haut-Médoc appellation. The village retains a rural character despite its proximity to the Bordeaux metropolis, making it an ideal setting for an outdoor car boot sale.
The SIMacau association is one of the driving forces of the local community. It organizes the annual car boot sale as well as other events that punctuate village life. Entry to the car boot sale is free for visitors, and a refreshment stand is provided on-site by volunteers.
From Bordeaux, take the D2 towards Margaux / Pauillac. Macau is about 20 km north of Bordeaux.
