The big solidarity car boot sale of Secours Populaire over two days in Tavaux
Every spring, the Place de la Victoire in Tavaux hosts one of the most important car boot sales in the Jura dolois. Organized by the Jura federation of the Secours Populaire Français in partnership with the association Festif's Cité, this solidarity event brings together around 200 exhibitors over two days, mixing individuals and professionals.
The two-day format — Saturday and Sunday — allows visitors to return and exhibitors to maximize their sales. From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., stalls stretch across the entire Place de la Victoire and the adjacent streets of the town center. You can find everything: furniture, dishes, clothes, toys, books, appliances, and decorative objects.
Beyond the bargain hunting, this car boot sale has a solidarity purpose. The profits made by Secours Populaire — particularly from the on-site refreshments and food — are fully donated to the association's actions for people in need in the Jura. Participating in this car boot sale also means contributing to local solidarity.
Tavaux is a commune in the Jura located southwest of Dole, known for its Solvay industrial site. The residential town surrounding the factory has vast public spaces, including the Place de la Victoire, perfectly suited to host a large-scale event. The associative life there is rich and dynamic, driven by structures like Secours Populaire and Festif's Cité.
