24th Antique Book and Collectibles Fair of Sarlat

The Sarlat Antique Book Fair: A Bibliophilia Rendezvous

Every spring, the Place du 14 Juillet in Sarlat-la-Canéda hosts the Antique Book and Collectibles Fair, organized by the Rotary Club of Sarlat Périgord Noir. This fair brings together about twenty professionals from the Southwest specializing in antique books, collectible comic books, posters, postcards, philately, and antique papers.

Sarlat, Jewel of the Black Périgord

Sarlat-la-Canéda is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe, with its Renaissance mansions, cobbled streets, and Saint-Sacerdos Cathedral. The antique book fair is part of the rich cultural life of this City of Art and History, which attracts thousands of visitors each year who love the heritage and gastronomy of the Périgord region.

Demonstrations and Exhibitions

In addition to selling books and collectibles, the fair offers demonstrations of art binding and marbled paper by specialized artisans. A thematic exhibition accompanies each edition: in 2026, the exhibition is dedicated to the writer Albéric Cahuet and his Sarlat hero Pontcarral. A raffle for the benefit of the ADÉTA youth theater workshop in Sarlat completes the entertainment.

A Solidarity Event

The proceeds from the fair are donated by the Rotary Club to local charitable and social actions. Each edition is thus an opportunity to support projects for young people and culture, while sharing a passion for books and collectibles in an exceptional setting.
