Summer garage sale in this village in northern Beaujolais, in the heart of the Moulin-à-Vent vineyards
The Saint-Clément-de-Vers Garage Sale is a moment of summer conviviality in this typical village of northern Beaujolais. Every August, local residents and bargain hunters from the surrounding area gather around stalls set up in the village streets and squares. Clothing of all sizes, vintage and recent toys, books and magazines, trinkets, crockery, tools and countless other everyday items are offered at gentle prices by private sellers clearing their attics and cupboards. The event, modest and authentic, perfectly reflects the spirit of summer village festivals that mark the rhythm of rural Beaujolais life. Visitors can also take the opportunity to discover the wine routes and estates that surround Saint-Clément-de-Vers.
Saint-Clément-de-Vers (69790) is a small village in the northern Rhône department, in the Beaujolais wine region, at the junction of the Moulin-à-Vent and Juliénas appellations — two of the most prestigious Beaujolais crus. Surrounded by vineyards covering its slopes and valleys, the village offers a typical wine-growing landscape, dotted with granite wine-growers' houses and cellars where high-quality wines are produced.
Saint-Clément-de-Vers is accessible from Mâcon (about 20 km north) via the D68 and local roads, and from Villefranche-sur-Saône (about 35 km south) via the D68. Parking available in the village. Car recommended. The visit can be combined with a wine route tour of the Moulin-à-Vent or Juliénas vineyards.
