Garage sale organized by the rescuers of Saint-Romain-en-Gal, facing Vienne and its Gallo-Roman site
The Rescuers' Garage Sale is organized by the Saint-Romain-en-Gal Rescuers' Association, which brings together volunteers committed to first aid and civil protection in the commune. Each year, these men and women dedicated to the safety of their fellow citizens organize this popular garage sale to fund their activities: purchasing rescue equipment, training first aiders, and local interventions. Private sellers and visitors meet in a warm, convivial atmosphere for a day of bargain hunting.
Saint-Romain-en-Gal is a commune in the southern Rhône, on the right bank of the Rhône, directly opposite Vienne (Isère). The commune is world-famous for its exceptional Gallo-Roman archaeological site, one of the most important in France, which has yielded mosaics, baths, warehouses and merchants' houses dating from the 1st to the 4th centuries. The Gallo-Roman Museum of Saint-Romain-en-Gal presents these discoveries in a modern museum overlooking the river. Together with Vienne, with its Saint-Maurice cathedral, Temple of Augustus and Livia, and ancient theatre, Saint-Romain-en-Gal forms a first-rate archaeological and heritage ensemble in the Rhône valley.
