A professional meeting in the heart of Chartres

Every second Sunday of the month, Chartres' Place Billard comes alive to host the Rendez-vous des Chineurs, a monthly professional flea market that has established itself as one of the essential events for antique hunters in Eure-et-Loir. Organized by OHVL International, this event brings together up to 55 professional dealers in the exceptional setting of the covered hall of Place Billard, a stone's throw from the famous Notre-Dame de Chartres Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The 1898 Baltard Hall: a historic and protected setting

The Rendez-vous des Chineurs is held in the vegetable market, a Baltard-style hall built in 1898 on the site of the former Chartres castle. This metal and glass building, inspired by the great Parisian halls of the 19th century, was completely renovated in 2013, offering a covered, bright, and weather-protected setting for exhibitors and visitors ever since. The hall has thus become the natural stage for this monthly flea market, which has enjoyed regular success since its launch.

A diverse professional offering

The exhibitors at Rendez-vous des Chineurs are licensed professionals who offer a diverse and carefully selected range: vintage small furniture, vinyl records, comic books, old and used books, tools, toys, jewelry, ceramics, and all sorts of collectibles. You can also find tableware, copper and silver utensils, lamps, ironwork, paintings, and vintage photographs. The presence of professionals guarantees the quality and authenticity of the items offered, with each exhibitor able to inform buyers about the origin and value of the objects.

Chartres, city of the cathedral and the Beauce plain

Chartres is the prefecture of Eure-et-Loir, the capital of an essentially agricultural department in the heart of Beauce. The city is world-renowned for its Notre-Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of 13th-century Gothic art, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979. Place Billard, where the flea market is held, is ideally located in the historic center of the city, a few minutes' walk from the legendary stained glass windows of the cathedral. Chartres attracts several hundred thousand visitors each year, ensuring the monthly flea market a varied audience, mixing locals, tourists, and collectors from all over the Centre-Val de Loire region and Île-de-France.

The Rendez-vous des Chineurs is open to all, with free admission, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
