Vignacourt, a village of the Battle of the Somme

Vignacourt is a town of about 2,200 inhabitants, 20 km north of Amiens. It gained unexpected fame with the 2011 discovery of glass photographic plates from WWI: the Thuillier couple had photographed thousands of British, Australian, French and American soldiers in transit. These images, now known worldwide, are displayed at the "Centre photographique Thuillier".
