Summer flea market on Fridays in July around the market halls of old Ganges, southern gateway to the Cévennes
Every Friday in July, the Puces du Vieux Ganges take over the area around the market halls and the adjacent streets of the historic center. From 7:30 AM to 2 PM, exhibitors offer flea market items, vintage clothing, trinkets, antique tableware, books, vinyl records, tools, and curiosities. Stall space costs €5 for up to 4 meters or €10 for up to 7 meters. Exhibitor setup from 6:30 AM, free entry for visitors.
A small town of 4,000 inhabitants nestled at the confluence of the Hérault and the Vis rivers, Ganges (34190) is the southern gateway to the Cévennes. Once the capital of Languedoc silk production, the town retains a rich industrial and architectural heritage: private mansions, old spinning mills, covered market halls from the 19th century. The nearby Gorges de l'Hérault, the Cascades de la Vis, and the Cirque de Navacelles attract thousands of visitors every summer.
The Puces du Vieux Ganges benefit from the summer tourist crowds to offer a lively and colorful flea market. The café terraces in the market hall area allow you to extend your morning with a coffee or breakfast, while the traditional Friday market complements the offerings with fresh produce and Cévenol specialties.
