The 9th edition of the great Ségala sewing and crafts rendezvous
For its 9th edition, the Valderiès Seamstresses' Flea Market gathers 60 exhibitors passionate about sewing, knitting, embroidery and creative crafts in the village community hall. A unique rendezvous in the Tarn Ségala that combines creative hunting with local flavour at an adjoining gourmet market.
For nearly a decade, the village of Valderiès, nestled on the Tarn Ségala plateau, hosts each autumn the Seamstresses' Flea Market, Crafts and Gourmet Market in the Ségala. Organised by the Familles Rurales association, this salon has become an unmissable rendezvous for amateur and professional textile-craft enthusiasts from the north-east Tarn, the neighbouring Cantal and Aveyron.
The 60 exhibitors offer the full world of sewing and creative crafts: fabrics by the metre, coupons, threads, cottons, knitting wools, buttons and haberdashery, lace and ribbons, embroidery, patchwork, felt, specialist magazines, old publications, second-hand equipment at gentle prices. Alongside, creators present their work: hand-painted porcelain, cardboard crafts, interior decor, textile transformation, jewellery creations, mosaic, beads.
A gourmet market featuring local producers from the Tarn and Aveyron Ségala: farmhouse cheeses, charcuterie, confits, foies gras, honeys, jams, wines, cakes and local sweet specialities.
A rolling agricultural plateau between Carmaux, Albi and Rodez, the Ségala is a land of bocage meadows, mixed forests and granite villages.
For experienced seamstresses and knitters, craft enthusiasts, collectors of old fabrics and gear, and families looking for a small-scale salon with gourmet pleasures.
