The Puces des Couturières de Bourg-des-Comptes are a unique thematic event that brings together enthusiasts of sewing, knitting, embroidery, and needlework. Exhibitors—amateur seamstresses, textile creators, and individuals—offer fabric remnants, vintage patterns, sewing machines, overlockers, haberdashery, wool, buttons, ribbons, lace, threads, and handmade creations. It's an opportunity to find textile treasures at low prices and to exchange advice and tips among enthusiasts.
Bourg-des-Comptes is a commune of about 4,000 inhabitants located on the banks of the Vilaine river, 25 km south of Rennes. The village stretches along the river in a green, hedgerow-lined landscape. The village retains its Saint-Côme-et-Saint-Damien church and pretty schist houses. The commune is part of the Vallons de Haute-Bretagne Communauté intercommunal structure and benefits from a particularly dynamic associative fabric, including very active sewing workshops.
The Puces des Couturières stand out from traditional car boot sales due to their textile specialization. You can find Liberty or Wax fabrics as well as vintage Burda patterns, spools of antique thread, and used Singer sewing machines. Demonstration workshops sometimes complete the program. Admission is free.
The Puces des Couturières return on March 29, 2026, in Bourg-des-Comptes.
