Sunday car boot sales and flea markets at the Parc des Étoiles in Craponne-sur-Arzon, from mid-June to early September
From June to the end of August, the Parc des Étoiles in Craponne-sur-Arzon hosts the Puces Craponnaises every Sunday morning, a weekly flea market organized by Craponne Animations. Open from 7 AM to 12:30 PM (public from 9 AM), at a rate of 2€/linear meter without reservation, these Sunday flea markets bring together exhibitors and bargain hunters in a friendly atmosphere, with a refreshment stand and pastries on site.
Craponne-sur-Arzon, a medieval village perched on a rocky spur overlooking the Arzon valley in Haute-Loire, is known for its castle of the Counts of Polignac and its vibrant community life. Throughout the summer, the commune offers bargain hunters an unmissable Sunday event : the Puces Craponnaises, organized by the Craponne Animations association at the Parc des Étoiles site, Rue de la Ratille, also known as the festival grounds (Chantegrenouille).
Every Sunday morning from June to the end of August (with a break in mid-season), the Parc des Étoiles transforms into a vast open-air flea market. Exhibitors set up from 7 AM in their designated spots, offering a wide range of items : antique crockery, tools, clothing, toys, books, trinkets, and furniture. The market closes its doors at 12:30 PM, leaving visitors the entire morning to browse at their leisure.
The Puces Craponnaises stand out for their accessibility : no reservation is required, and exhibitors can set up freely at a rate of 2€ per linear meter, with unlimited width and a maximum depth of 2 meters. This simple arrangement encourages spontaneous participation from individuals wishing to clear out their attics or amateur antique dealers looking to sell their finds.
Craponne Animations ensures the market's friendly atmosphere by offering a refreshment stand with hot and cold drinks, as well as pastries. Toilets are also available on site. The large free parking lot near the site facilitates access for both exhibitors and visitors. The green setting of the Parc des Étoiles, on the edge of the medieval village, offers a pleasant environment for this summer morning market.
