Every Pentecost Sunday, the village of Lavardens (32360), classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, opens its medieval streets to antique dealers and treasure hunters. The Pentecost Flea Market is one of the flagship events of this village perched on its rocky outcrop, in the heart of Gersois Gascony. Stalls are set up in the cobbled streets, in the squares, and at the foot of the majestic Lavardens Castle, creating a unique treasure hunting route.
The Lavardens Castle, a classified historic monument built in the 17th century on the foundations of a fortress of the Counts of Armagnac, dominates the village with its imposing silhouette. During the flea market, visitors can take the opportunity to discover the castle and its contemporary art exhibitions (ceramics, painting, sculpture), open from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The proximity of this exceptional monument gives the flea market a rare cultural dimension for such an event.
Lavardens is a castelnau—a fortified village built around its feudal castle—that has preserved its rampart remains, its stone houses, its narrow streets, and its church. Once the military capital of the Counts of Armagnac, the town has passed through the centuries preserving its medieval character. This remarkable architectural setting, located 20 km northwest of Auch, makes it an ideal place for a stroll and treasure hunting during Pentecost.
The Pentecost Flea Market of Lavardens is part of the tradition of spring car boot sales and flea markets that liven up the villages of the Gers region as soon as the weather improves. The event attracts exhibitors and visitors from all over the department and beyond, seduced by the beauty of the site and the quality of the items offered: antique furniture, earthenware, books, paintings, decorative objects, curiosities, and collector's items are found alongside classic car boot sale finds.
The Pentecost Flea Market is held on Pentecost Sunday in the village streets and at the foot of the castle. Entry is free for visitors. The village is accessible from Auch via the D930 towards Condom, then via the D103. Free parking at the entrance of the village.
The Pentecost Flea Market of Lavardens will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in the village streets and at the foot of the Castle. A unique event to hunt for treasures in one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, in the heart of Gersois Gascony. Free entry.
