The monthly professional flea market at the foot of the cathedral
The Puces Amiénoises at Jardin Dufau are the unmissable monthly rendezvous of professional brocante in Amiens. Organised by Amiens Métropole at the foot of the Notre-Dame Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this event gathers between 20 and 30 selected antique dealers, brocante traders and vintage clothing sellers. The June edition, held on a Saturday, is one of the most appreciated of the season.
The Puces Amiénoises are not a flea market like any other. Organised by Amiens Métropole in a prestigious setting, they are reserved for professional antique dealers, brocante traders and vintage clothing sellers, which guarantees a quality well above that of classic vide-greniers. Each edition gathers between 20 and 30 carefully selected exhibitors, offering authentic pieces: restored antique furniture, lighting, paintings, decorative objects, jewellery, ceramics, vintage textiles, quality crockery, curiosities.
The Jardin Dufau, located at the foot of Amiens Notre-Dame Cathedral, is one of the most remarkable places in the city. This public garden offers a spectacular perspective on the Gothic façade of the cathedral, one of the highest and largest in France, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Puces Amiénoises are held one Saturday a month, from April to October, with a special Christmas edition in December. The June edition is particularly appreciated for the mild early summer days and the favourable light that highlights the exhibited pieces.
Beyond the event itself, the Puces are an ideal opportunity to discover Amiens, capital of the Somme and former capital of Picardy. The Notre-Dame Cathedral, of course, but also the Saint-Leu district with its colourful houses on the canals, the Hortillonnages (floating gardens unique in Europe), Jules Verne's house complete a rich visit.
The Puces Amiénoises appeal to a knowledgeable audience but remain accessible to amateurs. Come early to enjoy the most sought-after pieces. Most antique dealers accept credit cards, unlike at vide-greniers. Combine your visit with the discovery of Amiens' historic centre for a full day of heritage and quality bargain hunting.
