Every year in June, the village of Les Hays hosts its big flea market. With around 150 private exhibitors, it is one of the most important events of the season in this part of the Jura. You can find everything: antique tableware, clothing, toys, books, trinkets, garden tools, and small furniture. The atmosphere is that of a large country car boot sale, friendly and unpretentious. Prices are attractive and haggling is part of the fun. The earliest bargain hunters often snag the best pieces.

A village in the Jura plain

Les Hays is a small village in the Jura plain, in a green rural setting located between Lons-le-Saunier and Poligny. The commune, which has a few hundred inhabitants, comes alive particularly on this flea market day which attracts bargain hunters from the surrounding area.
