About Place du Louvre Sale (Ascension)

Each year on Ascension Thursday, Place du Louvre, facing the majestic eastern facade of the palace and Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois church, becomes a large outdoor car boot sale. From 6 AM, sellers set up to offer Parisian bargain hunters a wide variety of second-hand items. This spring event, its second edition in 2026, enjoys the exceptional heritage setting of the heart of Paris.

A sale at the foot of the Louvre

On Thursday 14 May 2026, Ascension Day, Place du Louvre hosts its second annual car boot sale. From 6 AM, sellers set up between Perrault's colonnade and the forecourt of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois church, in one of the most prestigious heritage settings of Paris.

A unique setting

Few car boot sales can boast such a jewel-like setting. Place du Louvre is bordered by the eastern facade of the Louvre Palace and by Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, former parish of the kings of France.

A wide variety of items: clothing, toys, tableware, books, small furniture, trinkets, records, costume jewellery, decorative accessories.
