Family car boot sale organized by the API association at the elementary school of Montferrier-sur-Lez
Each spring, the elementary school of Montferrier-sur-Lez opens its courtyard and grounds to host P'tites Puces, a family car boot sale organized by the API parents' association. Around 45 exhibitors—parents, neighbors, and villagers—set up their everyday treasures: children's and adult clothing, toys, books, decor, small furniture, and unusual items. Families from the village and surrounding towns stroll between the stalls from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., enjoying a friendly atmosphere and a crepe and drink stand run by association volunteers.
Montferrier-sur-Lez (34980) is a village in the northern suburbs of Montpellier, nestled at the confluence of the Lez and Lirou rivers. Dominated by the ruins of its medieval castle, the village retains its Provençal charm with its narrow streets, shaded squares, and views of the Pic Saint-Loup. Despite its residential growth, Montferrier cultivates a dynamic village life, driven by active associations like API that foster social connections among families.
The API (Association de Parents Indépendants) association brings together parents of students at the elementary school of Montferrier-sur-Lez. P'tites Puces is one of its flagship events, helping to fund educational projects and school trips. Beyond fundraising, this car boot sale is a moment for sharing and meeting among families in the educational community, embodying the spirit of solidarity and reuse characteristic of parents' associations.
