Moulins, prefecture of the Allier and city of art and history, hosts a flea market in October that marks the end of the outdoor hunting season. The historic capital of Bourbonnais, with its exceptional heritage, offers a prime setting for an autumn day of flea marketing.
The historic center of Moulins is remarkably rich. The Notre-Dame Cathedral houses the triptych of the Master of Moulins, a masterpiece of 15th-century painting. The castle of the Dukes of Bourbon, the Jacquemart tower with its medieval automaton, the Renaissance townhouses and the streets of old Moulins form an exceptional heritage backdrop for treasure hunting.
Scheduled for October, this flea market benefits from the autumn colors and a special light that enhances the blond stone of the Moulins monuments. It is one of the last outdoor hunting events before winter.
October Flea Market of Moulins 2026. Saturday, October 3rd. Free admission.
