Autumn sale of toys, games, bikes and baby equipment in Seine-et-Marne
In mid-November, just before the commercial frenzy of the end-of-year holidays, the Nonville multipurpose hall comes alive for two days to host its annual sale of toys, games, bikes and baby equipment. This event has become essential for many families in southern Seine-et-Marne, who see it as the ideal opportunity to prepare Christmas while being kind to their wallets and the planet.
The sale brings together a fine diversity of items dedicated to childhood: wooden and plastic toys, figurines and dolls, board games for all ages, educational games, puzzles, children's books, bikes, scooters, and all the baby equipment young parents need (strollers, baby carriers, high chairs, playpens, changing tables). Most items on offer are in excellent condition, carefully sorted and checked by the volunteers who organize the event.
As with the other sales in the village, the system allows families to drop off toys and equipment their children no longer use, which are then sold at low prices. A small commission is retained on sales to cover running costs, with the rest returned to depositors. This short, local loop gives a second life to thousands of items that would otherwise gather dust in attics, while easing families' gift budgets.
Scheduled one month before Christmas, the Nonville sale makes it possible to find gifts to slip under the tree in a warm atmosphere. For many parents, it is also an opportunity to introduce children to responsible consumption and the circular economy, explaining that second-hand toys can be just as beautiful, interesting and functional as new ones. Grandparents also find what they are looking for, often seeking classic, sturdy toys for their grandchildren.
A small rural village in the Seine-et-Marne Gâtinais, Nonville has about 400 inhabitants, but its community life is particularly dynamic. The multipurpose hall, the social lung of the village, hosts various events throughout the year that punctuate local life: seasonal sales, meals, bingo games, parties, shows. The toy sale is part of this tradition of village mutual aid that makes the charm and strength of small rural communes.
Visitors coming from further afield for the sale can take advantage of their visit to explore this little-known part of Seine-et-Marne. Nonville is located very close to the Fontainebleau forest and beautiful villages such as Nemours, Larchant and Château-Landon. The Lunain and Loing valleys offer beautiful walks, while the castles and rural churches of the area will delight heritage enthusiasts.
The Nonville Toy Sale takes place in mid-November at the village's multipurpose hall, over two consecutive days (13-14 November 2026). Admission is free for visitors. Free parking is available nearby.
