Traditional flea market organized by the Blood Donors Association in the streets of Muttersholtz with about 140 vendors
The Muttersholtz Flea Market is a must-see event of the Alsatian summer. Organized every July by the Blood Donors Association in the village streets, it brings together about 140 private vendors along a route crossing the center. Bargain-hunters find furniture, tableware, books, toys and antiques at low prices, in the typical atmosphere of Grand Ried villages. Alsatian snacks (coffee, pretzels, grilled food, fries, crepes, beer) are served throughout the day by the Association for the benefit of blood donation causes.
The Muttersholtz Flea Market is one of the most anticipated bargain-hunting events in central Bas-Rhin. Organized by the Muttersholtz Blood Donors Association, this event reaches its 28th edition in 2026. For nearly three decades, the Association's volunteers have mobilized to offer bargain-hunters a day of discovery in the picturesque streets of this emblematic village of the Alsatian Grand Ried, between Selestat and Strasbourg.
About 140 private vendors set up in the streets of Muttersholtz from 7am. Antique furniture, faience tableware, second-hand books, comics, vinyls, old toys, games, vintage clothing, postcards, militaria and curiosities — the choice is wide and prices attractive. The market is reserved for private sellers, which guarantees an authentic bargain-hunting experience and accessible prices. The village alleys lined with half-timbered houses provide a picturesque setting for this summer stroll.
All proceeds from the event go to the actions of the Blood Donors Association. This association plays an essential role in promoting blood donation among the local population and helps welcome donors during collections organized in Muttersholtz and neighboring communes. Throughout the day, volunteers provide food service with coffee, tea, pastries, pretzels, grilled food, fries, crepes and beer, in a friendly atmosphere that has made the event famous.
Muttersholtz is a commune of about 2,100 inhabitants located in the Bas-Rhin, about ten kilometers northeast of Selestat. The village became famous for being elected French Capital of Biodiversity in 2017, thanks to its exemplary actions in the preservation of wetlands and urban nature. Located in the heart of the Grand Ried, between the branches of the Ill river and the orchards of the Alsace plain, Muttersholtz preserves an authentic rural heritage and a very dynamic community life of which this flea market is one of the jewels.
28th Muttersholtz Blood Donors Association Flea Market on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 7am in the village streets. About 140 private vendors. Free entry. Alsatian food on site. Proceeds benefit blood donation cause.
