The annual bargain hunt in the former capital of the Counts of Vermandois
With its 89 announced exhibitors, the Nesle vide-grenier ranks among the significant events in the bargain-hunting calendar of eastern Somme. This intermediate size offers a good balance.
Nesle is a small town of around 2,500 inhabitants located in the Santerre, in the east of the Somme department. Its history is particularly rich: former capital of the county of Vermandois in the Middle Ages. Almost entirely destroyed during World War I and rebuilt in the 1920s.
The vide-grenier invades the town centre streets of Nesle, creating an urban bargain-hunting route alternating stalls, open shops and cafés.
The annual Nesle vide-grenier is one of the eagerly awaited rendezvous of residents. The town-centre shopkeepers also take advantage of the occasion to open on Sunday.
A day in Nesle for the vide-grenier can be an opportunity to discover the town and its surroundings. The Notre-Dame collegiate church deserves a detour.
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, the annual Nesle flea market will take place in the commune of Somme (80190). Organized by the Nesle badminton club, this event brings together individuals and bargain hunters around stands of second-hand items: bric-a-brac, crockery, clothes, toys, books, and trinkets. Free entry for visitors.
