Two summer dates in a Montmorillonnais village
Nalliers is a small commune of around 200 inhabitants in the Montmorillonnais, in eastern Vienne. An interesting particularity: the flea market runs twice in August — Sunday 9th and Friday 14th August 2026. This dual scheduling adapts to the holiday calendar and lets visitors and exhibitors choose.
Offering two dates is a smart approach: the first attracts early-August holidaymakers and families; the second, just before 15 August, benefits from peak tourist season. Exhibitors renew stock between events, and browsers return for new finds.
Nalliers is one of those endearing small Montmorillonnais communes near the Brenne Regional Natural Park. Bucolic landscapes (ponds, forests, bocage), religious heritage (UNESCO Saint-Savin abbey nearby), and gastronomy (Montmorillon macaron, Poitou farci, local cheeses). Plenty of reasons to extend the visit.
Small Montmorillonnais commune flea markets stand out for warm, human atmosphere. Sellers are often residents or second-home owners, prices gentle, and stories about objects part of the experience. Not so much for rare pieces as for the pleasure of outdoor browsing in a preserved French village setting.
