Exceptional musical flea market for the 145th anniversary of La Lyre Briarde in Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin
The Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin Musical Flea Market is a unique event organized in 2026 by La Lyre Briarde, the famous municipal brass band of this charming village of Brie des Morin, on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of this musical society. Entirely dedicated to the world of music, the flea market offers a specialized selection: CDs, vinyl records, instruments, sheet music, audio equipment, DVDs, comics, and music-related books. The event is enriched by concerts given by Al & Co Big Band and Brassage Musique, making this day a true festival of bargain hunting and live music.
The small municipality of Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin, well known to literature lovers for having been the adopted home of writer Pierre Mac Orlan, celebrates in 2026 a remarkable anniversary: the 145 years of La Lyre Briarde, its historic musical society. To mark this event, the brass band organizes an exceptional musical flea market, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, entirely devoted to the world of music. CDs, vinyl records, instruments, sheet music, audio equipment, musical DVDs, comics, and books on music await music lovers and collectors in a festive and warm atmosphere. This event is accompanied by concerts given by friend ensembles Al & Co Big Band and Brassage Musique.
Founded in 1881, La Lyre Briarde is one of the oldest brass bands in Brie. It is part of the long tradition of popular musical societies that flourished in France at the end of the 19th century, at a time when collective music was an essential vector of social bond and popular education. For nearly a century and a half, La Lyre Briarde has brought music to life in Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin and neighboring municipalities, passing on the passion for wind instruments and harmony from generation to generation. This exceptional anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate this longevity and to make the society's repertoire and activities known to as many people as possible.
The originality of this event lies in its thematic character: unlike generalist flea markets, it focuses exclusively on music-related objects. Music lovers will find happiness with vinyl records of all styles (classical, jazz, variety, rock, world music), musical CDs and DVDs, old and contemporary sheet music, second-hand instruments (brass, woodwinds, strings, percussion), vintage audio equipment (turntables, amplifiers, speakers), but also a selection of books, biographies, comics, and magazines devoted to music. A true paradise for enthusiasts and collectors.
To make this day truly exceptional, La Lyre Briarde has invited two friend musical ensembles to enliven the event: Al & Co Big Band, a dynamic and swinging jazz ensemble, and Brassage Musique, an eclectic group with a varied universe. These concerts will punctuate the day and offer visitors a total immersion in the musical world, transforming the flea market into a real little festival. An opportunity for visitors to bargain hunt while enjoying quality musical programming, and for musicians to share their passion with the public.
Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin is a charming village in Seine-et-Marne, located in the Petit Morin valley, between Rebais and La Ferté-sous-Jouarre. It owes its fame to Pierre Mac Orlan (1882-1970), writer and poet who lived there for over fifty years and is buried there. The departmental museum of Pierre Mac Orlan, housed in his home, perpetuates the memory of the author of Quai des brumes and Le Quai des brumes. The village, crossed by the Petit Morin, retains a preserved rural heritage: old church, traditional houses, rolling landscapes typical of Brie des Morin.
The visit to the Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin Musical Flea Market can easily be combined with the discovery of the Mac Orlan Museum and other interesting sites in the region: Rebais and its abbey church, Coulommiers and its cheese heritage, La Ferté-sous-Jouarre and its millstone past. The Brie des Morin territory also offers beautiful walks on foot or by bicycle, in rolling and preserved landscapes less than an hour from Paris.
