Every year at the beginning of October, the streets of the Ferney-Voltaire town centre transform into a huge open-air market. This flagship autumn event in the Pays de Gex combines a traditional car boot sale for individuals and a street sale by local traders offering their items at reduced prices.

An attractive double concept

The originality of this event lies in its dual identity. On one hand, individuals take over the pavements and small squares to clear out their attics and offer clothes, toys, books, crockery, and knick-knacks at unbeatable prices. On the other hand, town centre traders come out in front of their shops for a big street sale with exceptional promotions on their stock. This mix creates a festive and dynamic atmosphere that attracts a large crowd.

A border town with international reach

Ferney-Voltaire, located at the gates of Geneva and CERN, benefits from an international reach that is reflected in the diversity of its audience. The street sale attracts both French residents and cross-border commuters working in Switzerland, creating a unique cosmopolitan atmosphere. The town centre, with its varied shops and café terraces, offers a pleasant setting for this day of outdoor shopping.

Registration and conditions

3-meter pitches are available for €6 each, with a maximum of two pitches per person. Registration is online via the MyBrocante platform, with progressive openings: first for residents of Ferney-Voltaire, then for those of the Pays de Gex, and finally for residents from outside the area. An identity document and a recent proof of address are required.
