Children's clothing and toy sale in the Pays de Gex
The Sou des Écoles de Ségny Children's Sale is an annual event held on the last Saturday of April in this commune of the Pays de Gex. Families can drop off and buy second-hand children's clothing, toys, and childcare items. The consignment system allows sellers to recover part of the proceeds from their sales, with the remainder being donated to the Sou des Écoles for children's school activities.
Organized by the Sou des Écoles de Ségny, this children's sale is an annual event appreciated by families in the Pays de Gex. The event operates on a consignment basis: parents drop off items their children no longer need during a drop-off session on Friday evening, and the sale takes place on Saturday.
The system is simple and effective: sellers drop off their labeled items and then recover 70% of the sales proceeds. The remaining 30% is donated to the Sou des Écoles. Unsold items are collected by the sellers at the end of the day. It's an ecological and economical solution to give a second life to children's belongings.
Ségny is a residential commune in the Pays de Gex, located very close to the Swiss border and the Val Thoiry shopping center. The commune benefits from a green setting between the Jura massif and the Geneva plain, with a young and family-oriented population.
The funds raised by the Sou des Écoles help finance school trips, school shows, Christmas gifts, and end-of-year snacks for the children of Ségny.
