Soulomès is a village in the Lot (46240), located in the Quercy des causses, between Cahors and Figeac. This discreet rural village, surrounded by limestone plateau landscapes dotted with dolmens, lavognes (natural water holes), and junipers, has its own community life, embodied by the Comité des Fêtes de Soulomès. Each year, the latter organizes a flea market and a car boot sale that brings the local community together for a moment of sharing and conviviality.

An intimate and authentic event

With around 15 exhibitors, the Soulomès flea market and car boot sale offer an intimate and warm setting, far from the hustle and bustle of large flea markets. The Place de l'Église is an ideal setting for this event: the pale stone facades of the Causse houses, the Romanesque church, and the village's tranquility add incomparable charm. Individuals and amateur dealers offer all sorts of items: antique tableware, tools, books, clothing, furniture, and trinkets.

The "Soulomès en Fête" event

The car boot sale is sometimes integrated into a larger program, called "Soulomès en Fête", which can bring together up to fifty to seventy exhibitors in the privileged setting of the village, along the Causse alleys. In this case, a refreshment stand offering pizzas and drinks is available on site. Entry is always free for visitors, and the participation fee for exhibitors is 2 euros per linear meter.

The Causse de Gramat, a land of car boot sales

Soulomès is located on the Causse de Gramat, the largest of the Quercy causses. This limestone plateau, dotted with authentic villages, sheepfolds, and rocky outcrops, is the heart of the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park. Nature, hiking, and heritage enthusiasts will find many curiosities in the surrounding area, including the Gouffre de Padirac (about thirty kilometers away) and the Caves of Cougnac (about fifteen kilometers away).

How to get there

Soulomès is accessible from Cahors (about 40 km west) and from Gramat (about 15 km north). Parking is available on the outskirts of the village.
