Bargain hunting by the Paty lake, under pine trees facing Mont Ventoux
Each summer, the Paty lake in Caromb hosts the Pescadous du Paty flea market, organised by the local fishing association Lei Pescadous dou Paty. Some 150 exhibitors set up around this small artificial lake nestled in the hills, with Mont Ventoux in the background. Sunday 12 July 2026, 7 am to 7 pm.
A few kilometres from Caromb, the fig capital, Paty Lake is one of those discreet spots that Vaucluse locals like to keep to themselves. Created in the 19th century for irrigation, it is now a leisure site: summer bathing, trout fishing, hill walking.
Lei Pescadous dou Paty — literally « The Paty Fishermen » in Provençal — run the lake all year round: stocking, bank maintenance, fishing contests, summer festivities. Their flea market helps fund their work.
150 stands line the path around the lake from 7 am. Among pines, holm oaks and water reflections, the setting is particularly photogenic. Mostly private sellers: bric-a-brac, old linens, toys, books, tools, fishing gear, rustic furniture.
From 7 am to 7 pm, visitors can browse, walk around the lake, picnic, swim (supervised in summer) and eat at the Pescadous refreshment stand.
