At lieu-dit Brandes, outside Lizant village, is one of the rare monthly flea markets in Vienne. Every first Sunday of the month, 8am-6pm, private sellers and professionals offer furniture, knick-knacks, tableware, clothing, books and all sorts of items. The event is listed on Brocabrac, Pages Jaunes and several Civraisien directories, making it a well-known rendezvous for bargain hunters from southern Vienne, Charente and neighbouring Deux-Sèvres.

Monthly recurrence is a precious asset: regulars track stall evolution, build ties with sellers and gradually spot interesting pieces. Antique, vintage and retro fans find a regular hunting ground here, far from the large seasonal clearances.

Lizant, a discreet Civraisien village

A commune of around 400 residents in southern Vienne, 10 min from Civray. A preserved rural area with farming activity, rolling landscapes and discreet heritage (Romanesque churches, small manors).

Worth the detour. Civray has a magnificent listed Romanesque church, Saint-Nicolas, with exceptional carved facade. Charroux, Most Beautiful Village of France nearby, hosts a big August fair-flea market.
