The Maratte leisure area, nestled in the heart of the hamlet of Arceau in Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, hosts a car boot sale organized by the Amicale du Village d'Arceau several times a year. This green space, developed around a peaceful pond, offers an idyllic setting for a morning of bargain hunting. Stalls are set up around the water, creating a pleasant circular route where it's good to stroll among furniture, crockery, toys, books, and trinkets.

A car boot sale with Oléron charm

The peculiarity of this car boot sale lies in its unusual location: the Maratte pond, bordered by vegetation, gives the event a unique rural atmosphere on the island of Oléron. Exhibitors, from 50 to 100 depending on the edition, display their stalls facing the water, while an exhibition of vintage cars and motorcycles adds a touch of nostalgia to the whole. Coffee is offered to exhibitors, a sign of the conviviality that reigns in Arceau.

Arceau is a small rural hamlet of Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, located in the northern part of the island of Oléron. Practical Information

The car boot sale is held several times a year (May, June, August) from 8 am to 6 pm. Entry is free. Exhibitors can set up from 7 am at a rate of 3.50 euros per linear meter. Light catering and drinks are available on site. The large free car park is located next to the site; please do not park on the street.
