Every May 1st, the village of Larche comes alive with a double event: a grand car boot sale and the traditional New Garlic Festival. Organized by the Larche Festival Committee with the support of local associations, this event brings together between 200 and 300 exhibitors on the Place du 8 Mai and in the village streets.

The Tradition of New Garlic

The New Garlic Festival is a deeply rooted tradition in this region of Corrèze. From 9:30 am, visitors are invited to a free tasting of new garlic accompanied by a complimentary snack. New garlic, harvested in spring before full maturity, is distinguished by its sweetness and delicate aroma. This gastronomic festival attracts lovers of Limousin regional products.

A Large-Scale Car Boot Sale

The May 1st car boot sale in Larche is one of the most significant in Corrèze. Nearly 300 exhibitors set up throughout the village, offering a considerable range of second-hand items: furniture, tableware, clothing, books, toys, tools, trinkets, and curiosities. The scale of the event attracts bargain hunters from all over the department and beyond.
