The smart rendezvous for Tarn Lauragais families
Every spring, the village of Blan, on the border between Tarn and Haute-Garonne, organises its children's clothes, toys and baby equipment fair. A highly anticipated event for families of the Tarn Lauragais and neighbouring towns, who come to find seasonal clothing for children and teenagers, toys, books, strollers, car seats and baby gear at bargain prices.
Organised in Blan, a small commune of the Tarn Lauragais nestled between Revel and Castres, this clothing fair stands out for its distinctly family-oriented and solidarity approach. Village residents and neighbours bring items that have become too small or unused to give them a second life, following a circular economy philosophy appreciated by young parents and grandparents.
In textiles, the full wardrobe of children and teens parades by: spring-summer clothing from birth to 24 months, ages 2 to 14, and teenagers, shoes, rain boots, sportswear, swimwear, mid-season coats. For toys, expect educational games, dolls, Playmobil, Lego, toy cars, family board games and children's books. The baby gear section offers strollers, prams, high chairs, bouncers, travel cribs, changing tables, baby carriers, playpens and bathtubs.
Prices are freely negotiated between sellers and buyers and are particularly attractive. The fair allows modest families to equip themselves for the warm season at low cost, while offering sellers a friendly opportunity to declutter. Refreshments are usually available on site.
Traditionally held in April, the fair marks the real start of the flea market and clothing fair season in the area.
