A charity flea market organised by the nursery school parents' association
Every spring, the parents' association of the Plaisir nursery school organises its annual flea market on or near the school grounds. This family-focused neighborhood event offers children's clothing, toys, books, baby items and everyday goods. Proceeds go to the school to fund outings, educational materials and projects for the youngest pupils. A great opportunity for Plaisir families to bargain hunt while supporting a good cause.
The Plaisir nursery school flea market perfectly embodies the spirit of neighborhood sales: a small-scale event driven by a volunteer team of parents, whose primary goal is to raise funds directly for the school's children. Every spring, the parents' association (APE) organises this bargain-hunting day in or outside the school grounds, turning the premises into a cheerful colourful market for a day.
Unsurprisingly, the offer is strongly child-oriented: clothing for ages 0 to 10, toys, board games, baby equipment (pushchairs, car seats, high chairs, travel cots), children's books, DVDs, children's bikes, scooters, costumes. Parents empty the wardrobes of their fast-growing children, offering other families items that are often in excellent condition at very attractive prices. Alongside the children's stalls, you will also find household items, crockery, small decor and sometimes a few adult collections.
Proceeds from this flea market are entirely donated to the school cooperative or the APE to fund children's activities: educational outings, shows, teaching equipment purchases, playground upgrades. It is a deeply community-minded initiative where every euro spent benefits the pupils. The atmosphere is particularly family-friendly and friendly, often with refreshments and home-baked cakes made by parents.
Plaisir, with over 30,000 inhabitants, has a dense network of nursery and primary schools. Parents' associations are particularly active, regularly organising end-of-year parties, fetes, lotto evenings and flea markets. These events contribute to the local community fabric. The nursery school flea market is part of this living tradition of educational solidarity.
For many young Plaisir parents, this event has become a must-attend: an opportunity to find bargains on childcare items often very expensive new, to meet neighborhood acquaintances, and to support the school where their children learn to read, count and grow. Grandparents also gladly come to pick up a toy or piece of clothing for their grandchildren.
Registration for exhibitors is usually a few weeks before the event via the APE or at school pickup. Admission is free for visitors. Plaisir is accessible via Plaisir-Grignon station (Transilien line N) and the RN10/RN12.

On Saturday 11 April 2026, the Plaisir nursery school hosted its traditional spring flea market organised by the parents' association. Under a clement sky, families and neighbors gathered around the stalls set up within the school grounds.
Baby and children's clothing, toys, board games, children's books and childcare items formed the core of the offering. The refreshments run by volunteers helped extend the morning in a friendly atmosphere. The proceeds raised will fund the school's outings and educational projects for the coming year.
